“Let the reader find that he cannot afford to omit any line of your writing because you have omitted every word that he can spare.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

I’ve found that I enjoy editing other people’s work much more than my own. I’ve had the privilege of editing the writing of sixth-graders and pulling sense from the nonsense. I’ve also put more professional work through the wringer to cut away the superfluous and emphasize the imperative. It’s difficult to pull apart your own words and read them as another person. Don’t try and do it yourself, have me do it for you.
